Creative Campus Child Care Center - Child Care Resources

Parental Involvement

Families are the most important influence in the lives of their children.

At Creative Campus, we believe working closely with families and involving families as much as possible in the care of their children is very important.  Families have the right and responsibility to share in decisions about their children’s care and development.

You are welcome and encouraged to visit the center at anytime.  Creative Campus Child Care encourages parent participation in many ways. We encourage you to visit the classroom in any capacity you feel comfortable; observing, playing, reading a story, or leading an activity.

Your child’s teacher may ask for parent volunteers for many activities and events throughout the year, such as field trips and holiday celebrations.  Your participation in the classroom is a special treat for the children and teachers.  Please coordinate any special activities that you would like to organize in advance with your child’s teacher.

However, we also understand that work schedules may not allow you to visit or volunteer.  Please talk to your child’s teachers about how you may be able to be involved with your child’s experience at Creative Campus in other ways, such as donating needed items or helping with small projects at home.

Creative Campus Child Care also has a Parent Committee that meets once a month to discuss, give input, and help make decisions regarding upcoming events, fundraisers, parent education topics, curriculum, policies, and procedures.   If you would like to be part of the Parent Committee, please talk to a member of the administration team upon enrollment.

Communication

ccampus-butterfly Creative Campus Child Care feels strongly that communication is vital in providing quality care for your child.

Daily communication is provided through conversations with your child’s caregivers and the daily sheets filled out for each child by the teacher. The daily activity sheets keep you informed about your child’s eating, sleeping, toileting, peer interaction, and participation in activities throughout the day.

Parent / Teacher Conferences

An important part of Creative Curriculum involves observing the children in our care, recording those
observations, and completing a Developmental Profile 3-4 times a year. The information obtained in
this process will be shared with you during parent/teacher conferences. The purpose of
Parent/Teacher conferences is also to provide families with an overview of their child’s developmental
progress and to answer any questions or concerns families may have regarding their child’s
experience at school. Parent/Teacher conferences will be held two times a year, typically in October
and in May. Your child’s teacher will inform you of exact dates and the procedure for signing up
closer to these times. In addition, any family member may request a conference at any time.
